For this collection of pieces, I was inspired by the act of quilting, which I learned from my grandmothers. I can remember spending weekends at their houses in the summer, cutting triangles out of fabric with scissors nearly too big for my eight year old hands to hold. These pieces are meant to elicit a feeling of nostalgia, comfort, and familiarity due to their quilted nature, and soft color palette. The contrast of materials, the parchment and plastic against the soft cottons, are meant to suggest a sense of reinvention and imagination which stems from my own experience and relationship with the practice of quilting that was passed down to me at a young age.
